Make yourself at home
I recently started a new office job (complete with a high-rise building with a gym and hair salon in it yay!). It is an interesting transition to go from working completely remote to going back to the office, so I wanted to create some ways to make my desk feel a little more like being at home.
Of course, I can’t go moving around furniture in an office or change the desk color by any means, but here are a few items I brought to make it feel a bit more homey!
First the lighting. We all know the bright overhead lights are giving the big light energy that we stay avoiding at home. And although it may not be acceptable to sit in the dark at the office, I found adding some warm light to my space helped tune out the big light enough to make it cozier!
This lamp is so cute and small enough to fit in a cubicle! It has three different touch light options, and is cordless! (although I do keep the charging cord close by to charge when I leave for the night)
Then I personally love a nick nack - especially when it’s useful. I don’t know about other social media managers, but I am always pulling up my calendar to see which day of the month I need to schedule things for. So with this little month at a glance calendar, I can know what’s coming without having another tab open on my laptop!
I got this little green one and its perfect! It comes in a few different colors, and is also small enough to be perfect for a cubicle!
And last but not least, of course some pictures of my favorite people.
I found this cute pattern for a crocheted frame and attached it to a small frame I found at the Target dollar section!
All this to say a little goes a long way in the office to make it a bit more like home. Hope this helps brighten your space and give you a welcoming place to work!
